EMBRACE THE TRADITION
The 2018 Sale of Champions is the culmination of long hours, hard work, sweat, and even a few tears for Otero County’s outstanding, young livestock producers. The exciting event features these exhibitors and their award winning lambs, hogs, goats, and steers, the chant of the auctioneer, enthusiastic buyers and their rewarding bids and purchases as they invest in the future of Otero County.
It’s the livestock highlight of the year and we are inviting you to EMBRACE THE TRADITION.
HOW DOES THE SALE WORK?

IF I BID SUCCESSFULLY WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?
HAVE THE ANIMAL PROCESSED
Many buyers have the animal processed for their freezer. If you would like to proceed in this manner the processor will contact you for instructions.
SELL THE ANIMAL TO THE PACKER
If you choose this route you will be billed only for the difference between your auction bid and the packer price.
Example of a an 1,100lb animal:
Your auction bid $1,760
less Packer Price (.50 per lb) -550
Net Price to you – $1,210
*Actual Packer Bids will be established the night of the sale.*
DONATE THE ANIMAL TO THE BOOSTER POT
In this case you are still responsible for your full auction bid and the Booster Pot receives the packer price.
TAKE THE ANIMAL HOME
You are responsible for your full auction bid and securing transportation for your animal.
